Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.
Give the girl a gold star......
You know, writing things down in hard black and white often has a twofold effect with me. One, every time I write things down that have been bothering me (aka the lack of what I felt was enough protein in my scant diet being the latest) I pick myself up and do better with that particular worry and two, I always forget to knock on wood when I say things are going great, because within days of saying so, invariably things take a turn for worse lol.
I mentioned that I was having a great time after my last fill. I was able to get food down no worries during the first couple of weeks after. Water and fluids ditto. Then suddenly, this last week, well whoa! What a nightmare. I have PB'd SO much I was actually getting a stomach ache when I ate again. Sticking to a liquid diet just seemed to make it worse. I had zero hope of getting anything solid down and keeping it there. Just when I start thinking (and contemplating the logistics involved) of getting a little fill out again, my band rights itself. Today I have had a drinking yogurt (7 grams of protein), a protein drink (20 grams of protein) and for lunch, I ate a cruskit with two slices of lean deli meat, lite cream cheese and sliced tomato on top (no idea of how much protein, but it's definitely there.) It was easy and has stayed put. Go figure. There's an old joke: How do you confuse a blond? Well, in my case it's give her such a tight band she's yakking all over the place after every meal and after a week of that, make it all good again.
One thing I do plan on changing is my meal regime. I think for a while I will just eat tapas style for dinner. Crackers, cheese, olives maybe, stuff like that. I am not sure I can eat a proper evening meal at the moment as this seems to be the time I am the tightest with the band (how weird?) At least I will give it a go for a while. Ahh, doesn't having a lapband keep us both in check and on our toes. Blasted thing! lol.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. It's a gorgeous spring day here today, with no clouds in an azure blue sky. Hope you guys are lapping up the last of the sunshine, cos I plan on stealing it from you in the coming months. It's our turn for summer.

Testing......
ReplyDeleteIt is so weird to hear when people are tight at night... I am only tighter in the morning, at night I am at my loosest. Well, good luck with everything, sounds like a very fickle band right now...
ReplyDeletethe band can be tricky as you know...hang in there
ReplyDeleteSooo many things affect restriction and sometimes it's just got it's knickers in a knot! Could be stress, hormones, the first PB might have caused some swelling, or it could just be being a wank. I'm glad it's settled down for you.
ReplyDeleteEm :)
