What is going on?
Before I was banded, chocolate was a daily staple... then I got the band and suddenly lost all taste for it. Say what? But that's the truth.
Lately, I have been binging on it again and now I'm up 2.2 pounds. Ack. What a dope. I have almost no restriction and boy, does it show. Want that pastry? Sure.. scarf it down. Want that biscuit? Sure, have two.
As it turned out, the dinner/dance at the German Club was a washout. That is a no-go. It fell through. Bummer. And I was really looking forward to it, too. Instead, I rallied the troops, got Mitch to sit with his two two younger brothers (third son was at a party) and our BF's and MOTH (Man of the House) and I tried out this new restaurant.
Now usually, going to a restaurant is kinda tricky with a band. I did quite well since I have almost no restriction, if you don't include having to undo the buttons of my very tight black jeans afterwards lol. I managed two of the five Oysters Kilpatrick I ordered for entree (haha, see I ordered an entree.. usually I would ONLY eat an entree.) Then the mussels I wanted (light and easy for me to eat with a band) ended up a non-event as the chef apparently wasn't happy with them. So looking, looooooking at what else I could have I opted for an entree size pasta. I only managed maybe 6 bites of that, and then piggy here just had to have a mudslide dessert because my friend is a dessert fiend and there was no way she wasn't going to order that! I got about half of that down and holy cow, I was stuffed! I mean uncomfortable stuffed. I haven't eaten that much in months at one sitting and I felt it. Got home afterwards and immediately changed into tracky dacks and a jumper so I had some room to move. Sheesh.
Good thing I booked in this time next week for a fill. I'm in dire need of it....

I hear you sister friend. Don't worry-- you will prevail, you've shown the ability to get things under control, and you're no different than any other time that you've determined that you needed to get back in check (just skinnier!!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the support on my blog (always) and I'll be there with you.
I'm such an American, right?? Too bloody cheery sometimes.
Humbug.
:-)
Wow! That's quite a meal. Maintenance is tricky. A fill is definitely in order! Good luck. XOXO
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comments on my blog!
ReplyDeleteThis blog is why you continue to inspire me! You fall down, get up, brush yourself off and move on! That is what life is all about, right?
You will be able to get through it. I go through waves where I eat things that I probally don't need. I would agree that a small fill is probally in order.
ReplyDeleteSorry Cara, but the dinner sounded delish! (And I bet the black jeans looked fab!) Hope your fill fixes everything!
ReplyDeleteThere's something so weird about chocolate that other foods don't have - the fact that you want more and more, and craving sets in as soon as eating chocolate becomes part of your day... I try to overcome it by having drinking chocolate every few days, but it doesn't really work for long...
ReplyDeleteI agree, the dinner sounded lovely!!

I love chocolate too, but I have to set some limits. I usually have it on weekends only and then no more than one serving. The thing about sugar is that when you have it, you crave more and it is easy to get lost in that whole mess. The fill should help out.
ReplyDeleteChocolate is a real problem for me too. I haven't found any particularly helpful strategy with that, so I can only offer sympathy.
ReplyDeleteI think a fill will get you where you need to be. Good luck! (I love the 'tracky dacks').
I can't seem to give up the chocolate again. It has to be cold turkey for me and not sure if I'm ready. Good luck on the fill. Looks like you might need that little incentive.
