Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

You asked for it...

My new hair from the front. Thank you guys by the way. Everyone was so supportive when I posted about chopping off the hair lol. The things I do sometimes astounds me - but hey, I'm already getting used to it and have had heaps of positive comments from friends and family regarding my new 'short' do. It's actually turning out to be the perfect cut - wash and wear so to speak which for me is an amazing turn. I would spend 20 minutes blow-drying my hair before and now, well, I don't. Sometimes the best things come out of dopey actions. Who knew lol.

Close up shot

MOTH (Man of the House) and I went to a birthday BBQ yesterday out in Serpentine. A beautiful, calm, country type setting where the food was plentiful and the booze was even more so.

My band was being a pain yesterday. I was so tight and even though I just nibbled at food - it wasn't staying down. I had a few champagnes and that did me - though on an empty stomach, it doesn't take a genius to work out I got tipsy really fast lol. I think the band was tight because of the heat - it tends to do that for some reason. We ended up making it a whole day thing - got there at 1.30pm and didn't leave until 11pm. It was that much fun.

Summer has well and truly planted itself here at home - just as you guys on the other side of the world prepare for winter and snow and all that comes with that. I feel for you - though I could give todays weather a miss.. it is bloody hot! I'm inside in the air conditioning, hermit like, and the air cond is a must if you live in a mediterranean climate like we do here in Perth.

I took a heap of pics from the bbq but these are the ones I want to show. My three girls.

Pulling faces as we laugh before the shot

We settled down enough for the shot lol. From L to R is Tanya, Rose-Marie, me and Cal. The three girls are sisters with the fourth - Jennifer taking the pic. I've knows these girls since I was five and while I'm close to them all, Rose - the one in white - is my closest friend. We were born in the same year and we are soul sisters.

                                         Up close shot

These have nothing to do with the party lol I just added the pic because these pretty orange flowers have burst into life in my garden. Anyone know what they are? I have no clue.

Till next time

  1. Cara, your friends are going to start not liking being in pictures with you. ;) I think you look stunning with your new haircut. Very youthful and fresh, without looking like a teenager. I bet you get tons of compliments. Sometimes the best things happen out of mistakes or when we take a chance. Wow, you are visual proof of that!

  3. Oh, how I love the new cut on you! I have been getting the itch to go shorter and the only thing holding me back is my daughters wedding. I really don't know how I want to wear my hair and i think when its longer i have more options.

Than I see the Hotness of Cara and say, "hell, I want short hair too"!

  4. Love the sassy red cami! You look great, and the short do is really flattering. Plus, who doesn't love a wash and wear?

My mom (not a bandster) tells me she thinks bands are tighter in hot or humid weather because your body holds more fluid. No idea, but I've noticed my band is tighter in warmer weather. Hope it's better soon! If not, maybe you need a seasonal unfill, lol.

  6. Cara, I agree with the others that you look fantastic! The short do really suits you. I bet your friends are envious. And the red cam is really cute on you too! Even Walt says that you look great in short hair and that IS a complement since he normally likes the hair long.....

  10. Hello Gorgeous!

You look great, Cara. I love the hair and I so get the desire to have a wash and wear look- you`re a busy lady with lots of love and laughter in your life-- you don`t have time to fuss with blow drying ;-)

You looked smoking hot in that red cami, btw. So envious, wish I could have been there at that BBQ- it`s freezing cold here and it looks like you had a great time.

I think those are red tiger lilies, btw.
