Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

Ok, I'm up for it - BYOC Friday

Though it's now Saturday here. Does that count?

1. If you could be a cartoon character – who would you be and why?

Hands down it was Daphne from Scooby Doo. I loved her short purple dress, snazzy shoes, long hair and look how the girl wears a scarf!

2. Who was your teenage heartthrob?

Easy. Scott Baio. When I was 14, I was obsessed with him. Then a few years later he scored the part as Chachi in Happy Days. I only ever watched the show because he was in it. And was totally jealous of Joanie lol.

3. Do you believe being overweight is about a mental obstacle or do you believe it’s simply about overeating/food?

Of course it's different for everyone but for me it was both mental and a case of overeating. I started to put on a bit of weight after my 2nd child's birth then it really arced up when my fourth was born - and I was diagnosed as  clinically depressed. You get in this vicious cycle. You know the one. You eat, hate the way you look, then eat some more to ease the pain. I was never a big eater though. My portion sizes matched everyone else. What I excelled in was eating crap food. I could eat junk until it came out of my ears - then go back for more.

4. What is your all-time favorite song?

A hard one - there's so many. I still love Mickey by Toni Basil (one of those sing-out-loud songs,) Linkin Parks 'Numb' and 'Breaking the Habit' are two songs that also really get me. Raw yet I love the words. I'm also slipping this one in.. a sentimental song. Insatiable by Darren Hayes. I listened to it so many times in one day when it first hit the stores I knew it word for word 24 hours later. Just call me soppy.

5. Who's blog or comment spoke to you/stuck with you this week and why?

I started to choke up when I read Jacquie's post about losing her father and brother-in-law. It was heartbreakingly awful and proves you never know when your time is due so live each hour to the full. My heart goes out to her and her family. She's in my thoughts.

Hope you all have a great weekend,
Cara xxxx

  3. Scott was too clean cut for me. I liked the bad boys. Good thing I got out of that by the time I got married.
