Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

Sicker than a dog.......

Feel like crappola today. Still battling this damn flu - and have the heaviest chest which is making it hard to breathe. I've lost almost half a kilo in just the last few days alone - with MOTH (Man of the House) urging me to eat...eat! - but I just don't feel like it. Trying to stay on top of things though - taking a multi-V and picking away at protein based foods. Do we get sicker now because we have less reserves? I'm not sure - but wading my way through this week working - and a lot of it quite physical based (with a face-mask in place so as not to infect the elderly) probably hasn't helped. I did two hours of home-help yesterday with one client AND walked for an hour and half with another - a wheelchair bound lady who I took out to get some sunshine and fresh air - and promptly got lost. We had to stop twice to ask for directions back to her house. So that's probably helped too with the weight loss - I'm moving a lot. Still so blonde some days.

Today is a rare day off and I'm doing squat. Nothing harder than going to the library to load up on books and reading blogs on here. Hope you girls and guys are having a nicer time of it. I just want to make it through to Sunday and hopefully the new week beyond will bring a healthier me. Cos right now, this bites and I'm over it.
Cara xx

  6. Aww... that's no good - hope you feel better soon. I used to be a teacher and I always noticed that new teachers get sick a lot in their first year. I'd say it's true in your profession too. You are being exposed to a lot of different 'bugs' from your patients and it will take a while for your immunity to build up. Take care :-)

  20. Hoping you're feeling better and didn't infect all those poor ladies. Maybe you should get a GPS for those walks. Glad the lady was in a wheelchair, but at least you got some exercise.

  25. Get better soon!! Sorry to hear you are struggling with the bloody flu. I think maybe we do get hit harder with these things now. I am really concious of keeping the protein in even if food is not an option. I have been turning to the optifast shakes lately just to get some protein!! Anway.......get better ya tart!!!!

  26. It sucks to be sick...! Hope you are feeling better soon. I'm not sure whether we are being hit harder by some bugs without our resilient weight reserves... but I am with you about feeling the cold! Winter is just starting to bite here in NZ too of course and I am really feeling the cold like never before. I need extra layers during the day and extra blankets at night... my MOTH says I am no longer the reliable electric blanket he is used to!

Anyway - HUGE congrats on being so close to your goal. And thanks for your messages to me - I love the support!

    Take care, Jenny
