Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

On the home straight now.......

What a weenie amount that now feels like. Just two and a half kilos - or five and a half pounds is all I have left to make it to my ultimate goal of 73.3 kilos.... making it the whole 40 kilos (or 88 pounds) lost. My ticker is teetering on the edge. Far out! (Yup, Nicole and Sally, if you read this... I mucked up slightly. I had four kilos to lose when I made that comment .. not four pounds lol. One day I will get these figures right.) I hopped on the scale this morning to find myself down another half kilo and was stoked. I seriously cannot believe I have so little left to lose. Honestly, 2.5 feels soooo close and it's just a matter of time before you hear me shout I'M AT GOAL!!!!!

Mind you - I haven't been very hungry this past week and I haven't been hungry because I've been sick. Blasted pre-winter. I've been battling a severe cold since last week, but not wanting to take the time off work because I'm only half way through the standard probation period, I struggle my way through the day and collapse when I get home. Not ideal I guess, and it will probably take me twice as long to shrug off the headaches, runny nose, hacking cough and achy body I've been suffering with. Still - I can deal with the aches and pains because well, I'm almost there!! Whoooo...

And speaking of winter - gawd.. I'm cold ALL the time. I remember feeling the cold when I was bigger but this is insane. The rest of the household walks around in t'shirts and I have about three layers of clothes on and still complain. But again, I will take it. I hear it might just be a temporary thing. The lack of insulation and energy output now has something to do with feeling it more... or so I hear. Theories anyone?

I hope you all have a cracking week. I am looking forward to Thursday. It's my day off. Let's hope it stays that way with no call-ins or change of roster.

Before I sign off I want to send thanks to everyone who chipped in to comment on my vlog and 12 month post. Your support was outstanding and I love you all to death.
Till next time
Cara xx

  6. That's awesome! You rock!!!

And stay warm and beat this cold back with a stick. It's hard to think of you going into winter when we are just going into summer. A year ago I'd have been super-jealous and now am so excited about the summer!

  8. Wow...you're soooooo close now! I can't wait to see you reach it. Sorry you're feeling under the weather. Is it possible to catch viruses (not the cyber variety) through blogs? Because it seems there's a lot of it going around. Hope you feel better soon.

  10. So close! And I hear you on being cold - I'm much colder than last winter (the fact it's 7 degrees probably doesn't help!). Still I'd rather be slim and cold than overweight and warm!

  11. So close to goal, that must feel so good.

I now what you mean with the cold, I have lost 16kg and already am noticing the cold so much more this year. I have heard it is only temperary and that the body should adjust to the new smaller you.

  17. Hope you are feeling better today. You have so much more on your plate of "life" that may be why you are feeling run down and the effects of the cold weather. Load up on vitamins and keep the water handy. You are so near to goal! Wonderful you! Be happy and get well fast. You have done so much since being banded, NSV completing your studies and practicing your chosen profession. I bet the MOTH is so proud and you should be too!
