Well, this makes for a scintillating post lol. But in trying to help me kick start this weight loss again, Amy wanted a look at the size plate I use in order to see perhaps if it's too big? What do you think? The one of the left is the plate size my family use - just an average size dinner plate - the blue one on the right is the plate I now use. I also try hard not to go outside the thick blue rimmed line (but don't always succeed ha!)
The little inside the big - another comparison.

Thank you dear! I am a visual person :) I don't think it is too big at all. I use a smaller plate as well. Ours are square, but about the same size difference. I have noticed my portions getting a little bigger as my restriction becomes a little less. I eat around a cup for lunch, but probably eat two cups at dinner time.
ReplyDeleteLet me ask a really "stupid american" question. In australia do you guys measure in cups?
I actually use a glass little bowl that holds exactly one cup - I eat everything out of those bowls - (except when we go out to eat) - that way I KNOW exactly how much a cup is - I just can't tell otherwise - no concept of it for me! This way I layer in what ever I'm having and 1 cup is the max.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a silly question Amy (though I have to say I did smile lol) I mean you guys use cc's, we use mls for our fills so there you go. And yes, we measure in cups :)
ReplyDeleteUppercase, this is actually a brilliant idea.. mark off the cup measure and use a bowl for everything.. even instead of a plate.. then layer. I'm going to definitely try that one!
Cara- I use a small plate(salad plate?)too, but it's amazing how much I can get on there. I must have been a magician in a past life.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful little plate. I've been eating off of salad plates here for years, old Weight Watcher trick, but will be a careful measurer soon. And, your stoneware, is really pretty Ms. Cara. have a smashing weekend.
