So I had my first PB this morning. EEEEEK!!! Kind of weird but thankfully, due to heaps of reading of others blogs, I knew exactly what it was.
Let me backtrack a little.... and for anyone who doesn't like reading about gross stuff stop right here! Go no further! Do not collect 200 dollars! Well, you get the idea.
It's been almost a week since my first fill. I don't particularly feel like I have any restriction but that's okay as again, through lots of reading, I knew it was likely I wouldn't anyway. So, I had a few days of trying to control my portion sizes - did okay with it but then made the decision to switch to two meals of optifast a day and then eat a normal (cup sized) meal for dinner. I seem to do better this way. No worrying about calories and what food I can and can't have - with the added bonus of having almost blown that extra weight I put on before the fill. (In case anyone is wondering - I decided to leave the ticker exactly where it was as this was a mini-goal to get back to and when I'm on the march down again you will see it move again.) I think I will keep this up
until I have better restriction - it just seems to work for me.
Anyway, MOTH had been out and about with Riley, and they arrived home with a small box of Chicken Treat chips for me.... my favorite chips in the world. Hot, salty and just mmm mmm mmm. So I was sitting here catching up on blogs and not paying attention and threw a couple down my neck, gave a perfunctory chew and BAM! I felt this quite large knot in my breastbone. I fanned my face a few times and tried to breathe through it. No go. Stood up and stretched... and this was a little better but then.... a feeling like food was flooding back into my mouth had me rush off to the bathroom where I stood over the sink, gave a couple of little heaves and up she came. Chips and quite a bit of ooky saliva. Blech! I went straight back out to MOTH who was in the living room where he took one look at my watering eyes and slightly red face and knew what had happened straight up. "Had a spew, huh?" Needless to say, he inherited the box of chips and I was reminded of my episode by copious spitting into tissues as I got rid of the rest of the saliva. Fun times!
For me this was an interesting thing to happen as it seems the band is working in it's own way AND it was a reminder the little bugger is actually there. I didn't expect this to happen so early in the game... but then what do I know lol.

Oh to be this cat!! No napping for me.
We have had the busiest time of late which is why I haven't been posting as much. MOTH has some time off (hence him being home on a Monday) and we have been doing a lot of touch ups here at home... in order for us to put it on the market. Yes, we are moving...far, far away (Bec if you read this: will update in an email when I know more xx) Saturday we went room by room and did the front AND back yard and made a list of things that need fixing, painting, repairing, or just plain turfing out . There's a lot to do. We have a busy house with four busy sons and while we try and keep on top of it, it's not till you go through things minutely that you go "HOLY COW! We will be here for the next two years with this lot to fix lol." Hopefully not though. We will just cross stuff off the list as each job gets done and hopefully, by the time we get to the end, the beginning wont need doing again (as is usually the case!)
Last week while out and about at the shopping centre MOTH had a brainwave. He's been at me for the longest time to buy a decent pair of hiking boots. Say what? Apparently when we go down to our farm in Busselton - and this is true - I never have a decent pair of shoes to wear. My cute little summer sandles or flip flops just dont cut it when we go bush walking. So... we ended up buy me a pair of hiking boots. Love them. Very comfortable. But here's the cracker. I suspect he had an evil plan.
Saturday we made a start by clearing out his massive workshop and these boots suddenly became....... work boots!! Pfft. Comfortable for wearing hours on end when shifting a lot of gear in a mans shed where you don't want your tooties crushed. I should have known! lol.
When he was working for another company a few years ago we built on a specially made office for him to work out of which was attached to the workshop. Now he has moved into my study/library/computer room (it's a HUGE room big enough for us to put desks on each sides and still move freely) the office mostly sat unused. Not any more. Mitchell has had his eye on it for a while (he gets cranky with his younger brothers noise in the mornings) so he commandeered the old office. So far, he is about 80 percent moved in but who knew a teenager could accumulate so much crap - I mean honestly, you should see the mess. He and I will pick away at it when he gets home from work and I have been nibbling during the day when I get a chance too. It now means we are doing a room shuffle with all the kids (it will finally get Riley and Jake out of sharing a room) AND we can empty Mitch's room and get stuck in with new paint and blinds etc while its empty. I foresee a very busy few months ahead.
Okay, I'm out of here for more room cleaning etc. Lucky me (not!! lol)

Sorry to hear about the pbing episode....but at least you were aware of what it was and didn't panic!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have lots ahead of you and imagine how many calories you will burn moving and fixing things up! Men, their ideas always lead to ulterior motives! Gotta love em' sneaky devils!
Okay...when you say chips do you mean fries or potato chips? If you got stuck on potato chips I want your band bc those damn things...I can eat a whole bag....but if chips are fries...then yes...those buggers get stuck sometimes.!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the world of PBing... I still have the occasional episode!!! one happened today and - SNAP - it was chips!!!
