Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

14 hours til countdown.........WHAHOOOOOOOOOO

Well, this is the last blog for me for a while..... In just under 14 hours I am up, up and away to a little island they call Tasmania and I  can't believe the day is finally here! I will miss you all terribly (and miss blogging) but it's just for two weeks.....and then you're stuck with me again. Bags are packed.. all the little odds and ends are sorted... MIL (Mother in Law) is happily ensconsed in our house and full bottle about dealing with three kids and all that comes with them. Oooh, actually I have sweaty palms now lol. I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I woke today.. literally leaping out of bed (after a semi-crappy night of tossing and turning and a million dreams later) and I might just need a wee nap today to try and catch up on some sleep. We are taking the red-eye flight so not sure how much sleep MOTH (Man of the House) and I will catch in the seven hour flight over there. That said: I don't care if I sleep... the way I feel now......... I'll sleep when I'm dead. (Hmm, probably not a wise thing to say prior to jetting off, huh. EEK! lol)
This is a motorhome very similar to what we are hiring while we shuttle it around Tassie. I will post lots of pics when I get back
On the band front the news is all good. I mentioned that I could really feel this last fill several posts back - and ho boy... that still stands. I have been stuck twice (once really badly when I didn't toast a piece of Turkish bread enough.. and three bites later.. FARK!! I had the worst chest pain ever followed by a delightful PB episode.) I also notice, where I am at this stage of the game, I have to eat slowly (no more wolfing food down for me any more) and I have to take small mouthfuls. Anything else and I get that awful pain in my sternum telling me to back off. A couple of times I have even thrown away the rest of my meal because after three or four bites.. I find it's just not going to go down. I have also noticed (I have read about this too, but it's JUST started happening to me now) that my band is a bit tighter in the morning. This mornings breakfast was slow and steady as she goes. I could feel the potential of my Weet-Bix with banana sticking - but slowing right down and concentrating got me through.
I have lost a kilo this week. Yay to that! But with going away, there's the possibility I might just gain some or all of that back. If I do I will deal with it when I get home again. But I think with all the walking we have planned  it should hopefully keep my weight on track. I don't even mind if I just stay the same as what I am now, that would be even better. That said: with just MOTH and I and no sprogletts to worry about (or having to share food with) I see a few bottles of red and pickies (Camembert, biccies, olives, my favourite red pepper, parmeson and cashew dip etc) on the horizon. I would actually rather eat these than have dinner lol.

I also love the fact that I'm going for AGES without eating. It's something like four or five hours and then I feel my stomach rumble and I eat. But even then, I'm lazy. I would prefer to just drink than have to worry about what I'm eating. But I don't. I prepare something light and down the hatch. So all in all, everything is pretty sweet right now.
Just thought I would include a pic of my gorgeous son Mitch and his best friend Tom who he is travelling with. Mitch is on the left in the black t-shirt. They are currently still in the UK - staying with Tom's relatives in a little place called Devon. Sounds like they are having the best time and Mitch can't wait to get to Germany. That happens at the end of the month. (They are going to the German Beer Festival lol) I don't think they've had a dry night yet. My son the Alkie!
I hope you all have a productive and happy two weeks. Take care and I will see you all in a while.
