Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

A quick catchup on news...

Morning my little chickadees...

Well, can't say my life is boring now. Things have taken off at lightning speed and it's keeping me out of mischief.

Band News: Not much going on here to be honest. Ok, seems my life might not be boring but I might just be ..  lol. I only lost 300 grams this week so it's still slow going. That said, while I'm always conscious of my band and what I can and can't eat I'm not really focusing on losing weight right now but more maintaining. I am still that 10 pounds or so away from goal but it's not bugging me. It will go when it's ready. Right now with my new job etc I am putting most of my energies into that. Band is still fairly tight - then loosens up a bit at night allowing me to eat dinner but breakfast and lunch are still very light meals. And if I could stop picking at the bbq chips that might help, too! You think? (that was a rhetorical question lol.)

I have thrown myself wholeheartedly into this new work as a Carer. There's so much to learn - even from an administrative point of view. Logging km's to and from someones house, names, addresses, how to get from point A to point B (I think I will invest in a GPS because fussing with a map book every time I need to go to four or five houses - even with me knowing the area I live in - is becoming a chore already.) But I love my clients. And it looks like - again - I am being thrown headfirst into things. I have had two buddy shifts - one more to go tomorrow and as of Tuesday - I go it alone. The two girls I buddied with have been brilliant, easy going and really helpful. But come Tuesday - well, EEK! I am still at the point of muddling my way through (though I haven't been standing back and watching - I've been mucking in with the girls and their work which then leaves us ahead of time for the next client because two are quicker than one.) I went out the other day and got a couple of things to make the job easier too. I got a nurses fob watch (you know the gold one which you read upside down) which I pin on the inside of my pant pocket. It's proved really handy already considering this job is very much time driven. And I also got a bag for all my things I drag from house to house. Stuff like my skin tear kit and hand washing solution, pens, paper, clipboard with my client info etc etc. I had in mind a doctors bag kind of shape. Not too big, not too small and with just the one handle to pick up at a moments notice. I found a nice heavy duty canvas one in grey which is just the ticket. Already its proved invaluable.

Anyway, that's it for me today. I'm dressed and ready to rock on this Thursday morning.. but not for work. I have to go into work to get a mug shot. They want a pic for my ID I have to wear. While I'm there I have some things to ask, too. It's all such a learning curve.

Thanks for listening while I dribble on. I am off to try and catch up on some missed blogs I have too busy to read. xx Have a great day girls and guys.

  18. Hey there- you posted a whole ago so you may not see this... but, I am glad things are going so well. That is wonderful and I am happy to hear it.

10lbs from goal is incredible. You'll get there very soon.

I borrowed a friend's GPS for a road trip and wow- next road trip I am getting one. (I usually go to the same places back and forth and town and don't need one, but I have been thinking of going into realty and they say that the GPS is a life saver for anyone who works in a car).
