If I were to stay exactly where I am right now (for the rest of my life? haha) with my band I would be a happy camper. It's in really good spot. I am finding I am rarely hungry. By that, I mean I'm in a place where I don't usually eat solid food until around 1pm... and I have no inclination to. And when I do eat, I'm managing a whole new range of foods with very little in the way of sliming or PB's. I am happy to eat just a half cup of food (most times) and almost always fill up really quickly. The green zone when you reach it is just perfect. My band is perfect.
I feel quite comfortable at the weight I am and that is both good and bad. Actually, the only bad is the way my wallet is feeling. Empty, lol. I HAVE to stop clothes shopping. I seem to buy something almost every week.
A long while back I wrote about how I was loving the fact I could now wear scarves and with winter coming up this is exciting news for me again. Not that I let it stop me just because it was summer. Instead I wore the long thin ones in different colours that you drape or loop around your neck. But though I loved to wear them I was still finding, even though I had lost a whole lotta weight, they still just didn't look quite right. I often went online to find different ways of wearing them, or how others did it.
The other day, I was wearing jeans, a flat pair of shoes, a top and black cardie and it because it was cold first thing in the morning, picked out a long, pink scarf shot through with blue and gold thread, literally threw it around my neck a couple of times and yowsa...it looked pretty damn good. I stood there thinking, well, there's a first for everything. Now I can actually wear these suckers and not feel self conscious because I looked like I belonged in that scarf. It was a great feeling. Does anyone else ever go online to try and figure out how to put an outfit together? I do - often. I was trying to work out how to wear a short-length trench coat? I have my royal blue one (which I've since figured out I don't actually like that much lol I still haven't worn it..) and now I'm chasing an off-white or cream trench. One with no belt, maybe some good sized buttons but definitely no stupid zips. What possessed me to buy the one I did, other than the lovely colour was a momentary lapse of judgement I think. Anyway, I'm always trying to figure out what's too much or just enough to add, (accessory wise) and what are the different ways to put a look together. Slowly I'm learning.
This is the trench I want but I'm thinking the look might be too young for me (claps hands to cheeks in horror!! Could that be possible? lol)
LOVE this look. Now this I could wear!!
And this one!!
Sighhhh - so casual, yet so not.
Isn't this the most beautiful dress? This look is just amazing. Again, not sure if I would get away with it (especially with the bare legs) but the way she is put together is mesmerizing.
It also helps I'm finally adding some quality pieces to my wardrobe. I bought this beautiful sky blue shirt the other day (a Liz Jordon) a black pair of designer jeans and these gorgeous dressy charcoal slacks with a pin stripe. I'm having a ball with my new clothes. Does it show? lol.
Hope you all have a rocking Wednesday. See you again soon.

Oh I bet you looked super sassy in that with the hot pink! So exciting with all the new clothes....except for the empty wallet. LOL
ReplyDeleteSmooches.
You continue to inspire me Cara! I love scarves too and can't wait until I feel comfortable wearing them!
ReplyDeleteGood thing you have a new job so you can afford a little extra shopping LOL
ReplyDeleteI have never looked up how to wear an item of clothing but what a great idea - I will definately use that once I am in normal clothes again though I can't say I've ever been on top of the fashion game. :-)
I LOVE scarves. And accessories. I tend to buy plain, solid clothes and mix them up with scarves and big chunky jewelry. Great minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteYou can TOTALLY rock any of those trench coats - go for it!
You've inspired me to shop! LOL. Alas, I'll have to wait until I get the stupid band put in, lose a bunch of weight, and look as fabulous as you!
ReplyDeleteI love that jacket!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the scarves and the trenches! I've never been very good about accessorizing, which is too bad because it makes the outfit. Looking online is such a good idea. I keep thinking when I get to goal I'll hire a stylist to help me pick out a basic wardrobe. But really, how does one find a stylist to help a former fat girl?
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are getting your clothes fix. Can't wait to get there with you.
ReplyDeleteI go through phases with scarves - I like to see myself in the mirror with them on before I leave my bedroom, but once I'm outside the wretched thing gets in the way and dangles everywhere (!). Then I think of Isadora Duncan, the actress who died strangled when her stylish long scarf got caught in the wheels of a car she was in... and I throw it off in a panic. I know... feeble...
ReplyDeleteI echo Sandy Lee above, I so look forward to enjoying clothes again. You thoroughly deserve your clothes fix.
Caroline
I love scarves. I knit all mine and create things with different textures and colors and variations. So much fun to make and then so much fun to put with outfits.
ReplyDeleteBut scarves are about the only accessory I like. Odd, eh?
Glad you are enjoying the shopping. My grandmother has a rule, and I've heard this elsewhere, too, (once your closet is perfectly stocked), if you buy something, something has to go. So if you don't have anything ready to let go of...you can't buy anything. I know I'll be a shopping addict when I start to get down a bit more!
How great for you to be in that place with your band!!!! You would look great in any of those Trenchies!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you! To be in a good place with your band! I can only hope that I will get there too!! Someday???
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your shopping!! Now that you have a new body for it!! Can't wait until I have to start buying new clothes!!
But it will be awhile, since I hate to buy new when I can still wear what I have. Even if it doesn't fit!! Like too big. :) So until next Fall/Winter, I will probably keep on wearing what I already have in my closet!! I am hoping by Fall/Winter that I will have lost enough to actually need to buy new clothes!!
Hehehe you'll have to start blogging about your shopping addiction now that you've got banding down pat :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your taste in clothes, I bet you could pull off that last look with a pair of leggings and ankle boots to add some rock and roll.
It must be such a great feeling. I always buy cheap stuff saying that once I lose weight I'll get the nicer things. I can't wait until it's my time to shop for clothes that I know I'll be wearing for years to come. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteI've recently discovered a whole bunch of blogs devoted to all things fashion related, it's addictive and a great resource for planning outfits.
ReplyDeleteI may have to get a part-time job once I can shop anywhere and have things fit.
I think you would look great in any of the outfits above.
I love the trench coats~ and I do not think any of them are too young :) I think the casual one is my favorite. Isn't this clothes shopping stuff a blast!!
ReplyDeleteTina
Now I know what I'm doing wrong!!! I'm rubbish at putting outfits together especially since I've now been overweight for the past 11 years...I've forgotten what it's like to love clothes shopping...I used to spend a weeks wages at a time before I had responsibilities...now I pick up some bits and peices at Tesco or Sainsbury's (supermarkets). Don't know if you have that in Aus where the major supermarkets have a clothing section??
ReplyDeleteI think you should definately get the trench...it's gorgeous and classic.
I love those looks and like you need to stop shopping....I have bought 3 new jackets and a cardigan and jumper...I would go for one with single buttons...I have a trench with double buttons and find it very limiting where as my single one (red) is fantastic. Glad you are feelingon top of the world!!!
