It's not just the fact I can eat so much again but also the fact I've been eating my body weight in rubbish. MOTH (Man of the House) took all three of the kids down south for a few days to get them out of the house during the school holidays and I seemed to have taken this as carte blanche to eat badly. I have had way too much chocolate and iced coffee (um.. chocolate for lunch?) and have eaten too much rubbish full stop. Today I reined myself back in. I haven't gained any weight - which is a miracle in itself - but I want to tamp this down before I do, because I feel like I'm eating the way I used to pre-band and that is shocking. Mostly, I feel like I'm struggling - again - in eating good food. And that plain pisses me off. I don't want to feel like this. So back to the drawing board - going over foods I used to eat and reviewing the doctors 10 steps to success. I have some re-thinking and re-evaluating to do. I'm terrified of regaining weight.
Right. To the purple boots. I went shopping yesterday looking for a pair of waterproof shoes to wear when I'm giving old men and old ladies their shower (not together though lol.. though that might be interesting.. not!) By the time I'm finished doing the showering, my shoes and pants are usually soaked through from the shins down and I am clumping around in wet gear. Not a great idea, especially in mid-winter. This is what I came up with..... a pair of bright purple gumboots!
I think they are just brilliant and whats more, they match the purple work-shirt and purple scarf (almost a perfect match in colour, too) that I wear with my black winter coat and pants. And it was either these or one of the other options: boring black, fluorescent pink, red with yellow flowers or black with white flowers. Besides they are good for a laugh. I've had comments ranging from, "You look like a skinny Oompa Loompa," to "Don't get lost in the paddock - the cow might think you're a purple pansy and do his business on your shoes." Ahhh, old people have such a warped sense of humor lol. But these purple babies so far are doing a great job of keeping me dry and that's what counts.
I included a pic here of me in a new dress I got a few weeks ago and one of Riley, myself and Mitch in his new place. He moved out last weekend - t'was a day of melancholy for me and yet I'm super proud of him. He's doing it his way and it proves I've brought up a free thinker and someone who is grounded.
I think my camera is playing up. All the shots that day came out like this. Sorry for the awful yellow.
Moving in day for Mitch. He has a couple of limpets hanging off him.
That's it for me, folks.
Hope you're all fighting fit and doing better than me on the eating front. Speak soon,
Cara xx

Cara - it hard to get back on course when you've fallen off a bit, but you'll do it. Especially if you get back to the doc and get a small adjustment. You look great. More important, you look like you FEEL great. P.S. - love the boots! - Sally
ReplyDeleteLove the boots -I've been thinking I need to get some because my backyard has turned into a swamp with all the rain we've been getting!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the picture of you and your boys - I'm sure I'll feel exactly the same!
Great dress...you look skinny!!! ...and I love the gumboots.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the boots!!! I wish my calves would shrink so I could get some! Alas, that is by far one of the larger parts of my body!!!
ReplyDeleteThe boots are awesome! And you're looking great. I hear you on the coming and going of restriction. It's not so much that mine loosens a lot as much as that it gets really tight during my period, which for some reasons catches me by surprise and then I PB. Good times.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget, you're losing abdominal fat as you lose, so it's probably just time to add a little in to get you back to optimal restriction. Keep up the great work!
You look great, and I love the boots! Hey, you said you needed to get back to your Dr's 10 steps to success...that sounds interesting...you should share those steps??? please!!!
ReplyDeleteI am very jealous of your boots! They look just like the Hunters that I had shipped a few months back. They did not fit my plump calves, boo! Maybe I can try again soon! <3
ReplyDeleteI have a very serious addiction to iced coffee... with tasty add-ins that is. I have to stay away from it!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how a change of structure and routine like your family being away can affect you? It sounds like you are half-way back already!
ReplyDeleteUm....can those boots be part of the Sisterhood??....cuz I want them. They'd go swimmingly with my pink bikini.
ReplyDeleteThe dress looks FAB! love the boots too.
ReplyDeleteYou know i couldnt work out what NSV meant for ages until today..... im rocking the NSV at the moment ahahah.
Thanks for the comment :)
Cara love the dress and love the boots. Alas even my calves are one place that my lap band has NOT helped and I am unable to wear any boot above my ankle!!!
ReplyDeleteChocolholic? Yes that is my new name. I try and blame it on the baby but no its me!!! I think I will name teh baby Cadbury when they come out :-)
