Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.
I love tart....
No, not tart(S)... though I'm sure they hold a magic all of their own.. I'm talking about my new discovery. Bulla Gourmet Yoghurt. One of the reasons I love my band is it's making me explore foods I wouldn't normally have thought of trying. Yesterday while out food shopping (oh joy! shopping for five hungry males - anyone want my food bill?) I came across this little gem. I had read on so many of your blogs about 'Greek Yoghurt' but thought the stuff was just like plain old natural yoghurt, which I really, REALLY don't like! lol. This new one though is bitey and makes your mouth water with every bite - helped along by the fact it's mixed with passionfruit which is saliva inducing at the best of times - and it's so thick and creamy. You also mix it with a little separate granola pack it comes with. OMG..... just so yum. I managed about a half a tub before the rest went back in the fridge. And the best bit? I had some yesterday... put the lid back on and hours later it was still exactly the same as when first opened. It didn't go runny like some yogurts do. Bonus!! If you find this one, give it a try.. it's really, really delicious!
A pic for your viewing pleasure!!
This weekend just gone we put up our Christmas tree. Quite unusual for us as we usually don't get around to it until about mid-December. But MOTH was cleaning out the workshop - again - and found the cases we store the tree in and then got a bee in his bonnet. The tree HAD to go up this very, very second, and not a minute to waste. So that's what we did. When Mitch worked at Dick Smith last year he had a real score (well, actually it was more us not him lol) There were Christmas lights going out super cheap and we nabbed a whole lot... now my tree looks like it's ready for takeoff.... guard your retinas... they are gonna burn right out of their sockets lol. Actually, it doesn't quite look as bright as the photo seems to show. It's just very pretty, very colourful and fits right in with my "I love shiny - hit me with as much as you can" magpie mentality!!
lol I just realised something.... the big star on top of the tree is bending in the breeze - it's hitting the roof!!! hahahaha
I meant to mention on my last post that Brookster - Lap Band Labyrinth - is a very wise lady. She said to me after I had a huge sook about my lack of weight loss over the weeks - venting is good as it's usually followed by a drop on the scales. Well, who knew. It actually worked. I hopped on the very next day after my mega-rant and kerplop.. down went those scales by about a half kilo. I was gobsmacked but doing the happy jig. Slowly but surely those bastard scales are co-operating (could be I threatened its pretty little glass numbered face with a dirty great hammer too! You think!)
Gotta run,
Hope you all have a cool Wednesday,
Till next time
Cara xxxx
I'm glad you're down a bit, am glad your fill seems to be working well, and LOVE the tree!!!
ReplyDeleteYea for Greek Yogurt - I love it it's so thick and good. If you get the plain you can get creative and use it as a sauce for things.
ReplyDeleteLove the bright tree- I'm boring and always do white lights. We're doing ours this weekend.
Hmm might have to give that yoghurt a go. The only type I can stand is the Nestle No fat Strawberry diet yoghurt. Gets a bit tiresome though!
ReplyDeleteLove the tree. I think we're putting ours up tonight.
Em :)
That yogurt sounds yummy! I'm just not a big yogurt person, I wish I was because from what I've heard the Greek yogurt is packed with protein. Your tree looks great, I love the touch of the crooked star.
ReplyDeleteAwesome tree!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe yogurt looks yummy. I too am a huge fan of Greek Yogurt. Was your passionfruit yogurt the Greek kind?
Congrats on the loss!!!! See, the rant worked!
Great tree. I love it!
ReplyDeleteYoghurt looks delicious!! we put our christmas tree up and it looks bare - I really need some more lights and tinsel. Your tree looks great!!!
ReplyDeleteGreek yogurt is the best-- and it is a wonderful substitute for sour cream when. you get it unflavored. It makes an amazing fruit smoothie too (greek yogurt, blueberries, raspberries/ blend-- yum!)
ReplyDeleteOh, and "MY EYES!!" That is one bright and colorful Christmas tree...
Talk to you soon. V
Yum, I tried that greek yoghurt when I was at home visiting in July and YUM! Can't get yum yoghurt here (or it's super super expensive because it is imported!)
ReplyDeleteI love your Chrissie tree....so bright and bubbly (just like you Cara!) Glad to hear that the weight is budging....I feel like I have come to a stand still..but have a fill due on Saturday....
Oh I love your Christmas lights. Are those LED? I put so many lights on my tree that during the day with all the wires it looks a hot mess...but at night. BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteOkay...you've convinced me. I'm going to try greek yogurt. Like you, I keep seeing it pop up in these blogs but have been skeptical. Your tree looks gorgeous! I've started my outside decorating yesterday...starting to get into the spirit of things. Congrats on the half kilo!
ReplyDeleteLove Greek Yogurt!! Like you, I'm not sure I could try it without the fruit, but FAGE here in the states makes a yummy one with fruit on the side that you can mix in. YUM!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the loss!! LOL's on blasting your scale. I've switched back to my metal scale for fear of risking the life of my glass scale. ;-)
Your tree is so pretty. This is my favourite time of year. we got our tree up this weekend. I have to have the real ones as they smell so good.
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo for the scales. I am goign to start ranting and raving and maybe mine will move too :-)
I have tried the plain greek yogurt as a replacement for sour cream and no one knew the difference,,my favorite is a honey flavored one I found with a dab of sugarfree preserves.
ReplyDeleteLove that tree!
beautiful tree, you are certainly in the spirit!
ReplyDeleteGreek yogurt is AWESOME! I cannot stand, cannot STAND, any other yogurt. But I do love some greek yogurt!
ReplyDeleteThe tree is great - I hope to get ours up this weekend, if DH cooperates.
Amy
Hi Cara!! First of all, I absolutely LOVE your tree!! The more lights, the better I always say!! I am hopeful that our tree will go up today...but DH has to put it together for me, so I am always waiting on him!! I will post pictures when it is finally up though!! :)
ReplyDeleteNow, as for the yogurt. I have never liked it in any form. I can't stand the taste or after taste! I am not a big sour/tart liking person, so I doubt that I would like even the Greek Yogurt.
Too bad, as I know that it is a great addition to our diets. Woo hoo for the drop in weight!! My scale hasn't move in a few days either & it is driving me batty! Can't wait until my first fill on Dec 28th!!!
I missed a post! I have to say the yogurt did not look at good as everyone says...how can the mushy mixy stuff look good? I have never liked any yogurt that I mix with my own fruit. I have had people tell me that yogurt in the U.S. is standard so cruddy U.S. yogurt might be the issue. I love UK yogurts with fruit. I have never tried passion fruit at all...what does it taste like?
ReplyDeleteI was just going to post about my Christmas decorating dilemma today.
