Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

Something strange has happened.....

That's right girls and boys - my restriction is back! I got on the scales this morning and that little marker that hovers over the numbers of doom went down again - giving me a 1.2 kilo weight loss this week and taking my total kilo loss to date as 27 (or just 600 grams off that 60 pound mark lol)

I cannot believe this. The first week after my teeny fill I didn't feel much difference. The reason I got such a little one is because my new doc was apprehensive in giving me any more as I had a fair few PB episodes in the previous weeks/months. So we agreed (after a bit of haggling on my behalf to get anything at all!) on .25 mls to get that 'annoying, niggling hunger' under control. At first not much was happening. I noticed a little less hunger - but it still wasn't like it was when I was in that supposed 'sweet spot. Then all of a sudden when it did kick in, well,  WOWSA!!! I am now  back to having  no hunger again - in fact I have to push myself to eat. I'm also at that spot where I'm eating breakfast at lunch time again,  I'm on 2 meals per day full stop AND I have only had one PB (a weenie one at that when I ate something heavy too fast) since the day of the fill. This is unreal.

Here is what I ate yesterday: it's just an example for anyone interested in what you can get down when you have great restriction:

B - nothing
MT coffee (hilo milk and no sugar)

Lunch - coffee and a chicken, cheese and mayo toasted sandwich (all zero or low fat products - no skin on the chicken.)  I made this about 12.30pm and only managed half. I ate another quarter at 3pm and the last quarter at around 5pm. Each time I had this quarter I was quite full. (I think it was the bulk though the toast was very thin and toasted within an inch of it's life.)

Dinner - 6.30pm One small tub of fat free yogurt - with mixed frozen berries stirred through. Apple slices. Another coffee. 2 litres of water today (which is pretty normal too - I'm averaging between 1 and a half to the 2 litres every day. It's helping too I think.)

I took Jake and Riley out to a movie today - we saw Zombieland.  Funny, silly and everything in between about sums the movie up - and because we were taking in an early session only decided about 15 minutes beforehand I was a bit rushed.  I grabbed a pair of jeans off the hanger and as I dragged them up (without even having to undo the button or zip) they literally fell back to the floor. Turns out they were an old size 18's  (I am in a constant 16 now and almost into 14's.) They fell down my hips and pooled at my feet. What the? I was laughing so hard I almost tripped myself up trying to get them back off. These ones join the "too big to wear' pile now. It's growing by the month. Love this feeling.

Before I take off I just wanted to give a shout-out to Sally. She's an Aussie girl new to blogging who is being banded tomorrow. Before I put her blog address on here I want to check with her that it's ok, but once I do and if she say's yes, maybe you can pop in and say hi? She, like all new bandits, will need the support of this fantastic blogging community we have going. Big ta. xx

I hope you all had a lovely weekend - and I will see you again soon.
Cara xx

  2. Cara-- I find these posts about what you're eating so helpful. It is a little like a 'roadmap' to the future ... that toasted sandwich sounds DELISH!
Great news on your wonderful weight loss too, of course. Personally, I prefer to think in pounds (sorry to be an ugly American!!) b/c it sounds like SO MUCH MORE! 60 pounds is awesome.
Whatever on the 600 grams to go... you're virtually there...
Congrats and please keep sharing what you eat b/c it is interesting and helpful.
    Mwah! Vanessa

  5. Awesome! So happy to hear your restriction is back! I never thought it would happen to me - forgetting to eat, pushing myself to eat, being satisfied with 1/2 cup. It is bliss!

Good luck to the new Aussie Bandit!
