I don't know if anyone has seen it on the news, but here in Perth we had what was classified as the worst storm to hit for 30 years. It's actually been classified a natural disaster. Funnily enough, where we are on the coast (about 40 minutes out of the Perth CBD) it wasn't that bad. It was bad enough, but not what I would have called the worst storm ever. Apparently though, the eye of the storm pretty much hit the city and they had major, major damage. Thousands of cars are written off, there were landslides and flooding bringing transport to a halt, windows smashed and so much more and when you think about it, we were all pretty lucky. While we had some pretty close calls I don't think there were any deaths. At least if there were I don't remember hearing about it.
This is a picture of a University in Perth with hail storming down.
The lightening was fierce
Winds were up to 120km per hour
Hows my cats form? Just thought I would throw these in because - well, he's cute. Garfield would have to be the most laid back cat ever. Here he is sleeping (not dead - though he looks it lol) in the middle of our expansive floor. And he does this all the time. We here in the house are constantly tripping over him, especially since he seems to blend with our honey coloured floorboards. And check out the munted ear. He had a fight with another tom cat a few months ago, scored a rip in his ear which I treated but now the tip of his ear is permanently bent.
I want ask a question too, to you girls who say they are need a fill. Amy W, Jenny, Gen and anyone else who is in the same situation. I still think I need a fill. I am hungry - no too ways about it. 6am this morning? My stomach was grumbling and hurting with hunger. I seem to be okay with food - a small half a cup (or sometimes more especially with salad) seems to fill me, but I get hungry again after a few hours. That said, I still have trouble eating some days. Yesterday, I slammed down lots of stuff I normally couldn't eat - today, I seemed to be tight again. Was it like this for you when you said you thought you needed a fill because you'd slipped back into the yellow zone from the green? I'm curious. Share please lol.
Have had a couple of busy social days/nights, getting them in before I start my new job (that is, IF I am still in line to get it. Still no word... though I did hear from them two days when they were chasing down my referrals via the phone.. so I know they are still in the processing stage.) Last night I went out with a friend and saw a movie. We caught The Rebound with Catherine Zeta Jones .. loved it!! Wasn't high on my list of movies to see, but I'm glad I did. So different from the usual rom-com's that are a dime a dozen. Today was lunch out and I caught another movie lol. This time, The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock. Fantastic movie! Love, love, loved it! She deserved that Oscar (but not the fall out from her scumbag husband! Pfft.) Tomorrow night is drinks with friends, Saturday is another night out, this time in Fremantle as we farewell a different couple at a big shin-dig before they head off to the other side of the country to live. They will be missed.
That's it from me
Hope you all had a wonderful Thursday,
Seeya soon
Cara xx

As long as you are still losing, maybe a fill isn't what you need right now. Are you still losing weight? Your cat ... they are lazy creatures aren't they? Mine will fine a sunray on the floor and stretch out for a long snooze.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe that storm that hit Perth....massive...glad that you got through unscathed though...have a great weekend, sounds like it's going to be full on!
ReplyDeleteYour cat is beyond cute!I just want to stick my head in the furry part and kiss it! Well, here is why I think I need a fill. Up until maybe a week ago, I was thinking that I might actually call and cancel my fill on the 21st. But now I think I need it. My eating has been so out of control this past week, and while a majority of it has been sliders like ice cream, candy, chips, etc...when I do eat a real meal I can eat much more than when I was at my sweet spot. Like now I can eat 5-6 ounces of steak WITH mashed potatoes followed by some dessert.
ReplyDeleteWhen I am eating bad it is hard to determine how long I stay full since I snack like a crazy person...but I guess for me I gauge by the amount I could eat when I WAS at my sweet spot vs what I can eat now.
I'm glad you didn't suffer any damage in the storm! I live within sight of the city and it came right over my house. Definitely the worst storm I can remember, no doubt. I had hailstones the size of nectarines skittling through my back porch and flywire into the kitchen! Also one smashed window, one badly damaged car and carport and cracked roof tiles leading to a nice big wet patch on the carpet. It was exciting though! I haven't felt adrenaline like that in ages... I can't believe nobody died either...
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are okay and that the storm didn't catch you!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your fill frustrations of late. It is so annoying to get to the sweet spot and stay there.
What a cute kitty by the way!
Wow - that storm sounds bad. I'm glad you are ok and didn't have much damage. We had a hail storm like that last July and all of our houses had to get new siding and asphalt shingles. Many had windows broken (we had 3) and cars had windows broken out of them along with major body damage. Those pictures are great.
ReplyDeleteI love your cat! He is so cute and I would trip over him too, he does blend in with the floor!
I hope you can decide on the fill situation. I wish it were an exact science. It still amazes me how much they can change from day to day.
My thinking behind "I need a fill" is doing the meat challenge. If I can eat more than 4 oz of meat or if I eat 4 oz and do not stay full for 4 hours then I am not at optimal restriction. This is the challenge that my surgeon's office uses to determine if you need a fill and it works pretty well! Your kitty is too cute, I want a kitty so bad but my doggies would think it was a toy!
ReplyDeleteSaw the storm on the news. I thought the reporter said it was a cyclone? We had siding damaged two years ago from hail and had to have it replaced.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the job front. And I love the cat pics. Maybe you will need to replace the floor to something that doesn't match him so much. LOL.
Wow! That was quite a storm - thanks for the pictures. Your kitty is beautiful - just like it's owner :)
ReplyDeleteCompletely in love with your kitty!! Amy's comment word for word is how I felt. Last week I had my period, was really tight and wondered if I even needed a fill this week. Fast forward to last weekend and I began eating anything and everything (obviously still no bread, but I bet I could've). I was still eating really slowly, chewing etc. but I could get in a lot more food than usual. To Sally's point though, the biggest decision for me was the huge lack of weight loss I've had. 1 pound in 1 month...after losing 10 consistently on a monthly basis was what forced my decision that I was in the yellow zone. Got my fill this morning .5, bringing me to 7.4. Now I feel a ton of restriction...hoping I'm not too tight!
ReplyDeleteI have an organge cat too. Don't they just have the best personalities? Oddly mine also has damaged ears.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you when I heard about the storm - I'm glad you are ok!!
ReplyDeleteBTW - LOVED the blind side!!! Wasn't Sandra Bullock amazing :-)
I'm glad you were OK in the storm - the picture of the lightening is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe fill thing is so tricky(weren't we saying this 6 months ago?). I think I need a little one too. I haven't lost anything in weeks.
That storm was crazy (saw it on the news). We had a similar storm here a couple of weeks ago and lost a branch of a big tree - scary stuff. Glad you weren't affected.
ReplyDeleteI'm in need of a fill as well - having trouble getting into the green zone and staying there! I keep bouncing up and down over the same kilo - very frustrating!
Cool pictures. Crazy storm, glad you weren't affected. Garfield is very cute, cats are the best at just lazing around.
ReplyDeleteOMG...how good was the Blind Side....love love loved it!!!! Thanks for your great comments on my blog....you are so kind. Can't wait to see some of your answers to those questions...great ones. good luck with the job and that strom looks fierce.
ReplyDeleteHoly storm!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your floors-- kitty is sweet.
Hope you're well Madame Skinny Mini!
Wow! Cara, I don't know where me head was at that time, but I wasn't watching the news that is for sure, or I would have heard of your gigantic storm!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you didn't suffer from it though! Your cat, Garfield is precious!! He looks like a cat I used to have that I called Tigger.
The photos are amazing!! Especially the Lightning!!
I'd say if you are getting hungry within 2-3 hours afer eating a meal that was high in protein and you weren't drinking during the meal or too soon afterwards, you most likely need a fill. Even though I've gotten fills all but one time (when I lost 6 pounds in two weeks), I was losing between each fill, so my surgeon typically doesn't use that as a barometer of needing a fill. He usually goes by hunger level and how much you are eating.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
