Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

Fridays rock...and banishing the hungries

I love Fridays. What not to love? The weekend is just around the corner, there's no uniforms for the kids schooling to organise, no lunches to be packed, things are relaxed (and in this house that's something) and Friday night dinner is always something simple. I love simple.

I mentioned in the past few blogs that I was hungry. Right? lol I'm sure you all heard me whinge buckets, but funnily enough, it hasn't been a problem for me today. I woke up with a normal non-hungry tummy for the first time in days and thought, hello?? That's weird, but it was a good weird. After a liquid breakfast, I had a snackpack - chocolatey goodness, yum!! which took me around a half hour to eat (the fact I was checking on all your blogs probably kept me from eating too fast) and after that.. I was stuffed!! I mean really stuffed!! Amazing. I have alternated between liquids and slightly thicker liquids today and it's done the job. I know my stomach will get used to this also lol but while it's doing the trick... I'm not complaining.

MOTH and I went out food shopping today. Well, I dragged the poor man out, but that's hardly the point - after all I needed someone to lift all the bags and I'm not doing it yet ... hello, healing cuts anyone? lol. Anyway, we spent about 150 dollars UNDER what we usually spend and I'm still spinning out about the fact this seems to be happening almost every week. Admittedly I'm not eating - so that will change, and my oldest is hardly ever around either, so that's helping too, but I have to say, it's great to walk around the supermarket with a trolley full of food that is still neatly stacked inside with room to spare instead of piled so high I have to balance that last few items on the bar, only to have the dunny rolls (cos they are in the last aisle) tip off and roll to someones feet. I have had many people over the years ask "Wow, how many people are you feeding? I would always answer, six and all four of my children are boys, to which they would give a knowing nod, "Ohhh ok. Yeah, boys eat you out of house and home, or my favorite.. "That is a for a fortnight, right? You won't need to shop next week?" to which I would always reply, "Nope. This is a weeks worth AND I will probably have to get more milk." It's fun to watch them scuttle away with a look of horror on their faces. Now I only buy about 15 litres of milk, but I remember when it was 21 or more.

So nothing more to report at this end. I think we are in for a quiet weekend. No plans - as yet but as is usual with us, something invariably crops up. I hope you all have a lovely Saturday and Sunday and I will see you again soon.

Oh, before I forget. I know I said I was only going to tell a few select people about getting Portia in, but this morning I was emailing my wonderful sister-in-law Bec who lives in the U.S. (I miss you darl!!) and I came clean. If she ever asked me about how I had lost the weight, I just knew I wouldn't be able to look her in the eye and tell her an outright lie, so after a little internal debate I told her the story via email (as well as giving her directions on how to get to this blog... if she knows, she might as well know warts and all.) So Bec, if you pop in, just want to say hi, luv ya madly and look forward to an email from you soon.. hint hint!!

LIQUIDS - DAY SEVEN

Liquid vitamins 10 mls and a cup of coffee. Then mid-morning I had a snackpack. 350 mls of water (slightly up, yay) a half a tube of lime go-gurt, a half a cup of normal yogurt thinned down with a few tablespoons of skim milk, another coffee, three Werthers sugar-freel lollies, will have a chocolate optifast tonight with half a banana blended (or maybe frozen berries - oooh yeah, berries) one more coffee to end the evening.

Ciao
Cara xx
