Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

Just a meander..........

Not much has happened today, been a ho-hum sort of day. Since it was cold and wet, I mostly spent time just catching up on stuff that had been neglected while I got better. Still feeling really good - I think I'm about 99 percent of the way to being healed, but I'm still mindful not to lift things, and I'm not exactly straining myself in any way.

What I do have is major tummy rumbles. Holy cow!!! I know I mentioned this yesterday but it seems each day is taken with me trying to find ways to fill my poor suffering (not!! lol) stomach - and with only liquids this is some ask. I have noticed I'm able to fit more in - although I'm trying reaaaaally hard to stick to the half a cup measurement, it's just not cutting it for me. I seem to be able to drink a full cup... though it does take me about a half hour...... and forget this sip, sip, sip bizzo. I can slam it down like Colin Farrell on a bender. That said, I don't, but darn it's hard. I find myself taking a large mouthful, then I have to trickle, trickle, trickle as I try to get that one down in about three mouthfuls. Graceful I 'aint.

Here are the yesterdays and today's liquid intake: with NO LISTING!! lol

Day Five: Liquid Vitamins (10 mls), one 250 ml iced coffee (Gloria Jean's), 250 mls choc optifast, another 250 mls choc optifast hours later, (these are spread over several hours) 250 mls vitamin water - citrus - and 200 mls tap water.

Day Six: Cup of green tea for breakfast, later in the morning a small low-fat iced coffee, 200 mls tap water, another small glass of low-fat coffee (had to finish the carton) one Asian laksa cup-a-soup (bits strained out) and for dinner I plan on more water and a Lite-n-Easy tomato soup I found in the freezer. Will definitely have a teeny cup of coffee later on in the evening.

Think that's it for today folks.
I'm boring.

  1. I did not measure my liquids after surgery. I would probably "eat" about half a cup of broth or soup. I asked my doc at my one week post op if I could stretch my band out with liquids and he said no...they pretty much go straight through. But I didnt have anything in my band right after surgery. Do you?

  2. Hi Cara,

well done on the 10kg!! on mile stone gone for good.
Thanks for the comments on my blog, I really appreciate them. X
I was told that the band doesn't do much until it's had a fill. Try and stick with your surgeons advice and if you are hungry then drink some more...cos you still need to get your vitamins in and coffee ain't gonna do that!!! LOL

    Take care
    :o)

  3. Hi girls,

Amy, my doc told me the same thing. I can't stretch my stomach because the liquids go straight through also. And no, I don't have fill in yet either. I mean i KNOW why I'm hungry, it's just a pain to deal with it.

Dawn.. Wow, you're right. I hadn't realised but I am drinking a bit much coffee! lol I will put that right and mix it up a little. I do have liquid vitamins every day but I forget to write that lol. oops. Thanks for the tip.
