It seemed a day of liquids for me was just what the doctor ordered. I stuck to protein drinks all day and come dinner time - I had chicken wings and salad with no sticking, no PB'ing and/or sliming. Thank heavens for small mercies.Gen wrote a comment in my last post more eloquently than I could ever hope to. Her restriction is all over the place and so is mine. She mentioned inconsistencies with these bands of ours seem to be the norm and I tend to agree.
My hunger is there one day, then the next its not. One day I can eat a certain food fine, the next day it sticks. I'm tight in the morning and looser at night (makes me sound like a red-light pro... looser at night lol) - and the biggest thing doing our heads in is the way the band won't stay even. I guess all in all it makes life interesting, keeping us on our toes and never letting us forget we HAVE a band that, when you think about it, is both ruling our life and most definitely in charge.
My next decision comes in this form: do I get another small fill or not at the end of the month? I haven't worked that one out yet. I guess I will talk to the new Doc (think his name is Dr Hill) and see what he thinks. I feel like I might need one (to get rid of this hunger and thinking about food) and yet I have a bit of trouble eating some foods. Might be I need to go back and look at what kinds are giving me that uncomfortable stuck feeling. I know it's not salad (phew) and drinking is just fine. So.. back to the drawing board for me. I am going to do some soul-searching and see what I come up with.
This was just a quickie for me today, I have a super-busy day ahead. I have a bedroom to clean within an inch of its life (Mitchell's - he's due home tomorrow afternoon), a food shop to do and somewhere in there I must plant a whole bunch of seedlings in the newly made garden bed MOTH and I worked on this week. Speaking of flowers, do you think guys mind them? I was thinking of putting a bunch in a vase in Mitch's room. Just as a welcome home thing. Might brighten things up a little! What do you think?
Ciao for now

I think flowers are good for anyone - he might grumble as all boys do but deep down they like it hehehe
ReplyDeleteIt will be a nice touch to come home to after a bit of disappointment for him - poor guy!!!
Oh, I am having the same problem, tight one second, hungry the next, then PBing... Not sure what to do either...
ReplyDeleteI think Mitchell will like the flowers, what's better then a clean room, fresh sheets and a bunch of flowers in your room- a lovely welcome home. Are you making him his favourite meal too? :-)
I know you will be thrilled to see him after so long. Hope he is back to complete health soon and enjoy having him home!
ReplyDeleteI am making him his favorite meal, Tully - that is if he's up to eating it. Fingers crossed!!
ReplyDeleteWell I believe flowers make everyone feel good so I would definely go for it. As for stickin and bands that give us fits, I am with you. Sometimes food goes down easily and the next day the same thing can get stuck. Have a great time with Mitchell. Take care
ReplyDeleteI vote yes on the flowers as well and if he gives you any sideways looks show him it was a group vote!
ReplyDeletesorry your band is being picky. I was told that the one really bad stuck situation may have caused the additional ones and that if ever to the point that you are hacking up a stuck item (as opposed to feeling it rip its way down) that it is a good idea to go on liquids for a day..I am so over liquids! but I do feel like it has helped. I was getting stuck on everything.
You asked about my organic necklaces....lol My collection of jewelry is very small... a couple pair of stud type earings, my gold wedding band, my medical bracelet and a few chunky, handmade clay pendants on leather cord necklaces. One is an oval shape with the letters EAC stamped on it...this is my favorite. It stands for even after claire. (my band is named for her too) she was a sister on McLeod's Daughters.
Okay, TMI I am sure... lol
Enjoy your sons return!
Wow Cara! I am sooo glad that your son is finally returning home! I know you will really be happy tending him back to health. What are moms for? I'm sure he will really appreciate your making his favorite meal, even if he can't eat much of it. It's the thought that counts! As for the flowers, I also say go for it!!
ReplyDeleteYay, welcome back Mitchell! I can only imagine how excited you must be. I think guys do like flowers...even if they don't admit it.
ReplyDeleteI think flowers are a great idea! Who doesn't like flowers?
ReplyDeleteFlowers are great , even for boys. Have a great time this weekend I know you must be so excited fo ryour baby to come home
