Have you ever looked at a gravestone? On it you will find the date a person was born - and the date that person died. In between is a dash. This small symbol signifies a persons whole existence. When it comes time for my dash to be chipped in, I want to know I lived a full and wondrous life.

Silly Sunday!!

I can't begin to tell you how fantastic it is having Mitchell back home. He flew in yesterday around 2.30pm and well, the laughs and the stories and the madness we have had the last 24 hours has been so much fun. We've spent so much time out the back under the pergola, eating our meals, and soaking up the sun around the pool as we enjoy being a complete family again that I never want it to end. Unfortunately we have to share lol. He just got a call from one of his mates and they are all off to dinner tonight for a catch up. A fair old crowd too, I hear. Half his luck. All of us were spoilt from him too, especially me. I received these beautiful pair of Swarovski earrings I posted in the pic below. My heart just melted when he gave them to me. And he has such good taste! Must get that from his mother lol.

He was so completely taken aback at how I look now. When he last saw me almost 3 months ago, I had lost around 12 kilos. Now I am just over 25 down and he kept saying on the way home in the car, "You're so thin... so different, it's spinning me out. I can't get over it." I keep catching him looking at me lol. He gives a grin and says, 'Ahh, my mamalush (his nickname for me) looking so good!' Hey, if my teen son is handing out compliments, I'll take it!

My new earrings

My band is still being a pain - tight one day (in fact so tight I couldn't get anything down of the welcome home meal I did last night - not even dessert.... big sssssiiigh!!) and then it's okay the next. No change in it's fickle ways of late so I won't bore you with more grizzling lol. I must say though, it's helping with the weight loss - I've lost almost a kilo in five days. At least I can get down fruit, vegetables and salads, so I'm not losing through not eating - I'm just not able to tolerate anything heavy. I hope you all had the best weekend. I know I did, well, still am!
See you next week.

  5. Awww, love that you are getting to love on your boy some. My son left for a week, (yes, just a week) when he was 12. His best friend moved out of state and he went to visit. When his plane landed, I was a mess. Crying, laughing, etc...HE was mortified! Lol.

Way to go on the weight loss!! It's tough dealing with a finicky band, I know but sounds like you are doing great! So happy for you.

  7. How sweet is Mitchell? Adorable! And beautiful earrings! I hope my boys are that thoughtful in a few years...

I love "spinning me out" - is that like "you're freaking me out"? Must be.

Sorry about the band. Yours sounds much tighter than mine. After that first week or so, mine loosened up, but is still working.

Thanks for your comments, as always!
