Well, it's day three of my optifast regime and I'm coping just fine. I did as I wanted to this morning, that is had a herbal tea for breakfast, dropped the kids off to school then came back to make my choc opti shake before I headed out to do the weekly food shop. With both my husband away at the moment and myself doing this plan, the food bill has gone down considerably. That's a plus! Oh, and I've lost 2 kilos already. That's insane.
I didn't even feel hungry up until about ten minutes ago.... which was about 1.10pm, and I'm just now eating my opti berry bar. Yum.. I really like these, no hardship at all. I bought a big fat mango for today (might not eat it though, now I'm stuffed after the bar) but regardless.. its mine, that means HANDS OFF KIDS!! I've really stocked up on fruit (to be honest, nothing new there, my kids and myself and hubby eat a whole fruit shop a week and now I have even more lol) and my 2nd son opened the fridge after I had unpacked and went, wow, look at all that healthy stuff in here. Yogurts and fruit and cold lean meats etc. Hows that! All good signs of things to come.
I'm not feeling tired, yet I am feeling a little weak. Not much, just a little in my legs. I notice it when I get up from sitting down - and I have had aches and pains in my body that I rarely ever get. I've had windy pains (hear thats normal because of all the new fibre) and my back for some reason is aching. Whats with that? Did anyone else get aches and pains and/or a sore back when on opti. I would love to hear your input.
Well thats it for me today. Have a busy afternoon, so I'm off for the 2nd half of the day.

Awesome job Cara! Thanks for keeping us updated!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing really well !! Not sure about the weak legs thing....maybe take a vitamin supplement while you are doing Opti?
ReplyDeleteI'm on it Nola! I went out and bought a tub of MEGA B vitamins today and have started popping them. Not sure how they will go down when I am banded, they are the size of a horse tablet. x
ReplyDeleteAmy, as always, thanks for your support. You're a doll x
Can you have banana? I think legs ache sometimes because of lack of potassium. Nola is right on, don't forget to take your chewable vitamins. Great work. Keep the positive attitude working!
ReplyDeleteBanana is about the only thing i cant have, darn it lol. Pear, grapes (5) strawberries (5) lime, rhubarb, apple etc etc but no banana. Wish I could, I love them!
