Here's a tip girls and guys. When looking for an image of the word 'going down'.... don't lol. I got a few interesting pics come up and they weren't quite the clean type. My eyes! My eyes! Blond moment number 2066 - this year alone!
So..... great, great news. I am starting to lose weight again. I have lost almost half a kilo in the past few days alone!! YIPPEEEE ..... I think my plataue has broken. The biggest news though is my BMI is now sitting on 29.9 which puts me in the merely overweight category. Did I hear that right? I think I did... *thump* ... Sheizer! I just fell off my chair.
I am now just over 10 kilos away from goal. 10 piddly kilos!! I remember months and months ago when a friend of mine mentioned she had about this amount to lose. I looked at her like she was mad and I think I gave a bark of laughter. "Is that all? You want to swap? Try 40." This put us both in a solemn mood.. at least for about five seconds - because I was, at that time, full of hopes and dreams for what this band had the potential to bring me. Now I know dreams can come true!! It doesn't take much for me to tear up - and this will do it every time.
MOTH (Man of the House) had his hand on my leg last night in front of the T.V. "Hello, my skinny legged, babe," he said as he ran his hand up and down my lower thigh and then cupped his palm about half way down my leg. Yup, it's official... .my legs have thinned down for sure. And ... one of the best bits? I now have bony-ish feet lol. I'm serious.
Years ago I had this friend. She was my Brother-in-Laws girlfriend at the time and we were so close, she was one my bridesmaids. Anyway, she was not only beautiful in every sense of the word but she was also THIN! I'm talking willowy. And I used to envy her feet. How strange is that? She would wear these strappy sandals or expensive shoes and her long, slim, brown feet would just look amazing in whatever she wore. She had long toes, and slender ankles and well, while I was still not hugely overweight at this stage, I still didn't have feet that looked like that! I wanted those feet!! It now appears it's finally happened, as my own are melting away before my eyes. Could it seem that way as they have been little puffy butterballs for so long any difference in them is an improvement? Could well be. But if I look down, my ankles are very pronounced - except for a slightly bigger one on the right, a legecy from when I broke my ankle as a kid - and I have veins (a sign to me that there's no longer much padding!) and skinny toes. It's a hoot and I'm lovin' it!
Catherine http://chroniclesfrombandland.blogspot.com did a great post today. She talked about her method of weigh-ins and I have say, we are almost identical in the way we mark our progress. I - like her - weigh almost every day, if not every day, and I do it in as little clothes as possible after visiting the loo and before I shower or eat. I only ever write in my book when I have reached a new low number - not counting the in-betweens because I can bounce around as much as a half-kilo to a kilo during that week. I don't worry what day it is either that my lowest weight was recorded. Could have been Monday last week and the following Wednesday the week after might be when I see my new best number. When I see that lowest weight, I record it on my ticker but refuse to record any slight ups due to that bouncing. It always goes back to the original number and then down to a new low. It works for me and stops me focusing so much on my ticker and in the long run my drawn out stats. That's the theory anyway, (says she who did a post on that exact very thing - her new stats.) Like I said: theory lol.
I guess that's it for me today. Just wanted to share my good news. Be good, stay safe and see you soon.

Congratulations, Cara! I know you are glad to see lower numbers. Isn't it funny what makes us happy? When you have been where we have been, there are lots of small, satisfying moments on the way down. :) (Enjoy your warm weather, we are getting 10 inches of snow tomorrow!)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you've kicked that plateau to the curb! I remember how excited I was to only be "overweight" hahaha. You're looking fabulous and I know you'll get through the last 10kgs too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Em :)
Lucky You Cara! You are getting so close to goal. Keep up your good work.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 29.9 BMI - that is my first BIG goal - 8 kilos to go for me, can't wait to be merely "overweight" LOL. Enjoy your success.
ReplyDeleteCara, I am so happy for you! I know that you have been at your plateau for a long time but apparently you were losing inches even when it wasn't on the scale. I like the way you and Catherine do your weigh ins, I may try it also. I don't like weighing once a week :(
ReplyDeleteYAHOOO Cara.. another breakthrough... I love the comment about the feet. although I will NEVER have thin feet, I do find myself looking at the feet of thin girls at the pedi salon.. Now with those thin and sexy legs (and feet) sounds like you need to treat yourself to some new sandals. you know to celebrate that great milestone!!.
ReplyDeleteYay!! for breaking your plateau!!
ReplyDeleteLol about the feet!!
My feet are short and stubby so I look forward to seeing what might emerge :-)
Sweet Cara, love the post and so glad about the breakthrough! It was just a matter of time for sure. The feet emergence is very interesting, I'm hoping to be able to comfortably wear some shoes too, that had just gotten too tight with the extra weight. It's amazing the things that change...my rings now go all the way around my fingers cause they are too big too! I won't mind paying to size em down! Have a lovely day, on this last Friday EVER that I'll be in my 40s..hehehee!
ReplyDeleteYay for skinny feet, busting the plateau's ass, plain 'overweight' and dreams coming true! Great news all around.
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing with weigh-ins. Once I've changed my ticker to a new low, there's no changing for a bounce up here or there. It only moves in one direction.
Have a great weekend, girl!
Congratulations on 29.9! That is fabulous...I cannot wait to be out of the dreaded obese column...ew.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about feet, I love pretty feet in cute shoes, and my feet always resembeled stuffed sausages in too small shoes!
I seriously know what you mean about the feet. I loooove sandals and can't wait for the day when I can wear them again and feel god about it. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYay Cara, that's great!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the warmth and sunshine for me. It's -15 degrees celcius in Toronto today.
Way to hang on through the "stuckies". I am happy to hear that things are moving again in the right direction. Once I was researching flags of different countries and typed in Brazilian instead of Brazilian FLAG, and up on my computer came a bunch of pictures of vaginas. Which wouldnt have been such a problem...except I was at work! Lesson learned! hahah
ReplyDeleteYay! There is some hope for me then!!! I bet that makes you feel so much better. It's no fun being on these sucky plateaus.
ReplyDeleteBy the way....I laughed so hard at your first paragraph!
Woo Hoo! Let's hope your scale talks to my scale :) Congrats on the BMI

Ha Ha I can only imagine the images you got he he ...
ReplyDeleteCOngrats on the scale finally moving for you!!!! Perserverance you knew it was going to happen and it did.
Have a great weekend
Great NSV's and SV's!! You've got victories all over the place! I read Catherine's post about the weigh ins as well as yours and I think it's great advice. While still just on a supervised diet, I only weigh once a week because I tend to get caught up in the numbers. That may change once I'm banded because I'll be more anxious to see results. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteohhhhhhhh going down....hahahahah. How sweet of your husband to say that!!
ReplyDeletewoohoooooo your going down. You stuck it out and got through the plateau. I'm totally happy for you and your drop to overweightiness.
Cara,
ReplyDeleteYou're a sexy skinny bitch, and I mean that in the best way possible! The great thighs, bony ankles, long sexy toes way. All of it tanned, of course. Now, you're one of the thin women complaining about how much weight they have to lose. CONGRATULATIONS!
Lara
Glad the scale is moving for you! That gives me some hope cuz my stupid scale is not budging, and I'm about to pick it up and hurl it to space! Have a great day!
ReplyDelete"My eyes!!" LOL LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it. I hate you that you are so close to goal (damn, where is the strikethrough when a girl needs it.)
Just kidding-- I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! You deserve it and are lighting the way for all of us little baby and toddler bandsters getting our little tushies off the floor and starting the walk to goal...
Congrats!
I thought for sure we would be seeing pictures of those new feet you speak of! :) So happy for you that your plateu is over!! Doing the happy dance for sure.
ReplyDeleteOh thank goodness.....way to go Cara....you must be relieved!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Cara
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note to thank you for your words of encouragement you posted on my blog. Without this world of support I'd be lost. So glad I found this community of hugs. XX
ps-I'll remember your advice about googling a phrase-funny as all get out!
Oh Cara I am just so excited for you. To only have 10 kilos to go is such a huge achievement - you must be so darn proud of yourself!
