Well, if you are reading this post today you will no doubt see the pic above. Yep.. I have officially hit and surpassed the 50 pound mark of weight lost. As the car advertisment here in Oz says, "Oh, what a feeling." Cue jumping high and pumping fist! lol
I am sitting her writing this feeling a lot of contentment. The support and hurrahs for my hitting Onederland was both amazing and overwhelming - I even had a small poem written for me... thanks Catherine xx You girls are my lifeline, seriously. The fact we are all in this together and are going through exactly the same things no matter where in the world we are just makes our bond stronger (a special call out here to my good bud Linda who was banded the same day as me.. hugs). I seriously give credit to each and every one of you for pouring your heart out onto a page - just like I do - so we can see exactly what each of is going through at a particular stage. If you baby-bandits learn something from me along the way, even better. I know I learn from those even further into the game than I am, every single day.
Gen came up with a fantastic idea when she left me a message last time. She thought it would be great if there was some sort of conversion method from changing my kilos into your pounds. That way you're not always dragging a calculator out to work out who is where. I did find something. If you go to about half-way down my page on the right under my archives I have added a conversion calculator. Up the top it says speed, volume, weight etc. Press the weight button, put in my kilos and press convert it. And Voila!! Up comes the pound equivalent in the little box. I've been having all sorts of fun with it. It will also help me when I'm doing the opposite trying to figure out how many pounds you've lost into our kilos lol. Nifty little thing.
Gen also liked the colour of my scales in the pic yesterday: They are actually a reddish/orange colour (it came out more orange for some reason: probably the light.) But they are a really kicking pair of scales that measure in stones, pounds and kilos and does your BMI, too. Very easy to use though. If anyone is after a new set, the brand is Tanita. I'm not sure where they were purchased (and our stores here in Oz are different anyway) as they were Mitchell's and I nicked them.. just for a little .. Uh huh. It's been five months and I don't think he's getting them back lol.
I have a quick question. I am trying to do a v-log. A video on here. I am now only half a kilo away (work that out on my conversion thingee lol) from hitting 89.9 and I want to put myself out there on a little video. Do you think I can work out how. Jenny tried to help yesterday (thanks Jen xx) but unfortunately, the problem solver she came up with was one I had already tried. This was going into settings and changing the editor from new to old. Apparently, a film icon should be there next to the image one. No such luck. Hours of fiddling with it still brought no joy. So you girls who already do the v-logs can you help me any further? I don't know if I need a special program or what? Would you let me know what (or how) you get it onto a blog? Thanks.
Bandwise I'm cruising here. I think that I have finally hit my sweet spot. I have 6 mls (or cc's) in my 10 ml band and I am going a good four, five or even six hours without being hungry. I am struggling to eat in the mornings but I am sticking with a coffee first up (to warm the little cow Portia up... if the men of the world had their way they would call this part foreplay..) and then I have a protein shake. Lunch is very light (Tuna, eggs.. whatever I feel like.. I have forgone the crackers for now thanks to Amy's advice) and dinner is whatever I'm cooking. Last night it was an omlette (or should that be smashlette... swear to God, I can never get an omlette to look right, it was more scrambled with bits in it lol) I have really started to shift the weight again.. another loss for me this morning of 300 grams which is .600 of a pound. I'm taking it and running with it. Life is good!
Till next time

I'm so glad things are humming along for you right now. Especially your restriction-that sounds like heaven. I have another fill in 2 weeks and I'll need it by then. I hope you get the video blog going soon - I love to hear people voices. I think when I hit 50 maybe I'll do one too.
ReplyDeleteWOW Cara you are awesome! 50! 50! What an inspiration you are!!!! You need to celebrate. Champagne is in order!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you got the converter thing too. So cool! That will help a bunch when you report all your mounting losses.
The scale - I think mine is Tanita, but it is so boring looking! I have had this thing for about 8 years, and it just won't break so I can get a new one! Why can't it break like everything else I own so I can replace it with a lovely bright thing like your scale?
Now you mentioned a "pair" of scales. What does that mean? You have 2, or there are 2 parts to your scale? More questions....
Congratulations, you deserve that 50!
Cara!! Yay for you-- you're doing so awesome-- I guess I qualify for "BB" status, baby-bandit, ha ha (not even, I am like an embryonic bandit since my surgery isn't until January.)
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you that you've reached the '50 Pounds' lost mark and whatever in Kilos. Love your converter and thanks for your support on my blog. You are a doll.

Thanks for sharing what you're eating- I am always curious.
Cara!! 50 pounds, such great news! Wow...Onderland and 50, you are cooking! Sorry the video piece didn't work, I'm going to to do some more research for you. What was Amy's advice on the crackers? I eat crackers with my tuna as well so I'm interested in what she mentioned...
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you!
xoxo

ReplyDeleteCara - that is absolutely fantastic news!! You deserve all the lovely compliments everyone gives you. Everyone does because you take so much time to be part of everyone else's successes so everyone really enjoys repaying the favor and being part of yours! You truly are an inspiration and just a lovely lady! I can't wait to hear your accent too! I wish I could give you some help with a vlog, but I've never done one myself. Onederland and 50lbs! Wow. thanks also for sharing what you're eating - that's very similar to me right now so that helps me to think/hope/dream I'll see some of the loss and numbers that you are! Congrats again!
ReplyDeleteYay! Love the little converter do-dad. Very handy! Can't help you with the v-log sorry. I guess a way around it might be to load it onto youtube and link that to your blog? I dunno.

OK, call me a tourist, but I can't wait to hear your cute Australian accent on your blog!! :)
ReplyDeleteCara, 50 is so amazing!!! Congratulations!!! That is an incredible milestone and achievement. You lost a SLED DOG, my friend!! A sled dog!! (That can, as coincidence would have it, pull a . . well, a sled. you get the point. . it's a lot of weight!) :) :)
BTW, for me to post a vlog, I had to download a better version of Quicktime than the free one, in order to compress my file to a size that Blogspot would accept. Just Google "compress video Quicktime" and you should find some good instructions (sorry love, have had 2 glasses of wine and am useless in that dept right now!) :)
xoxoxo,
Catherine
