I want to thank you all for your responses to my plea yesterday. It was confusing for me at best and I remembered reading a lot about this exact thing when you guys hit the same spot as me - how hard it was to keep certain foods down and that the band was maybe too tight. I had a long hard think last night. I don't think I'm too tight - at least not all day. It's the mornings that I am tightest. I have opted for a protein drink to start the day as I'm not terribly hungry (this is a huge plus in hitting the right fill.) After the troubles I wrote about yesterday and the day before getting my food down, dinner last night was a breeze - but it was the portion size that knocked my socks off.
I cooked up a beef stir-fry. Very thin strips of beef marinated in bbq sauce and sesame oil, threw in a whole whack of assorted vegetables and made some rice. Well, I could only eat half of my cup size serving. I did as you guys recommended and concentrated on the protein first (chew, chew, and chew again) and then the vegetables so by the time I got to the rice I could only have three teapsoons. I still had a few vegies left too but it was almost all rice. Amazing. About an hour later I had a fruche light because I felt like something sweet. It totally hit the spot. When I thought about it later the whole meal was so small, but then, isn't that the whole point of this exercise? So all in all, was happy with my day.
Fruche - little tubs of goodness - it's almost like a yogurt without the fruit lumps but shakes like jelly (our jelly, not your jelly jam lol) These are 99% percent fat free and a little high in sugar - around 19.1grams per serve.. but since I don't eat them every day, no problemo.
These are the crackers I was talking about in the last post - They are large as a whole but you can snap them in half or into quarters depending on what you feel like. I like the multigrain ones. In case you can't read the box (couldn't enlarge the pic) it reads 97% fat free. About 13 grams per cracker of carbs and .3 sugars.
For sweet, Gen! These are cruskits. They are light and crunchy and taste a little bready. These are .4g sugars for one serve (2 crackers), 8.1g carbs for one serve and they are also 97 percent fat free.
So, I have finally seen the scales move. I dropped over half a kilo in just a few days and I just know I'm finally heading south again. I can feel it. I am currently sitting on .4 of a kilo (or around a pound I think it equates to - don't quote me, but near enough) from getting into onederland (Angie beat me lol She is SO brilliant and I'm totally there cheering her on as she heads into the 190's now!!) and one and a half pounds off hitting 50 pounds lost. I now think I can actually do it.. and hopefully within the next week. My mini goal is still in sight. Just took me longer than I thought it would - typical lol.
Well, I'm outta here. Another busy day forcast. Hope you all had a lovely Monday (say what?? Since when can Mondays be good??) See you all soon.

You deserved that scale to go down! That is your pay off for eating so little! It still can't get over it different seasons. I know it is true, but hard to imagine you are coming into summer as we are inching toward winter. Keep up what you are doing because it is sure working.
ReplyDeleteHaha I may have beat ya here but you'll be joining me in no time I'm sure of it! xx
ReplyDeleteI am much tighter in the mornings usually (although since fill two days ago I am tighter ALL THE TIME!). You have worked so hard, so good to see the scale finally move for you....I am concentrating on mostly protein and some vegie, don't even consider carbs much as I know I won't get to them!x
ReplyDeleteI hear you there, Roo lol. Same here so far. Nice that you have good restriction!!
ReplyDeleteI am WAY TIGHT in the mornings! Usually it takes me about 2 hours of liquid before I can even attempt a yogurt... so good that you're listening to your body! And BTW, I know you'll all be there cheering me on at the race - can't wait to fill everyone in!
ReplyDeleteFinally broke the stall, YEAH! You are rocking the band!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Cruskits info. I just knew it would be something I would love. Anything crunchy and bready is WAY up my alley!
